Meet David Cybulski, RMT
I first started thinking about health, recreation and Kinesiology as a career when I was in grade 10 at Saunders Secondary School in London Ontario. I have always been very active, partaking in a vast array of organized sports including golf, soccer, boxing, cross-country running and skiing, basketball, hockey, volley-ball, track and field and many others along the way. I knew I wanted to become a health professional in some aspect after spending at least 6 months out of every year in physiotherapy trying to rehabilitate my knees so that I was able to continue playing soccer with my London United Premier Team.
In high school I found out that I excelled at running and decided to focus my energy on it after deciding to step back from soccer. Some of my greatest accomplishments in running were competing in the Junior National Cross Country Championships as well as being named MVP in multiple years as a member of the Varsity Cross-Country and Track team at Lakehead University. Being part of the Lakehead University Varsity and Cross-Country Team was one of the best experiences I could have hoped for. It taught me a lot about life and helped me to become the person I am today.
Recently I have become very passionate about wakeboarding and love to get out on the water as often as possible. My favorite time out on the water is either in the early morning or evening when the water is as smooth as glass; I find the experience peaceful yet exhilarating at the same time. The feeling that I get while I am out there is very hard to describe but always makes my day that much better.
Since starting my professional life I have tried to impact as many people as possible through various aspects of the health field. Working at Community Living on Manitoulin Island taught me a lot as did coaching young cross country athletes. Community Living was a very dynamic and fun environment to work where I always had to react and be ready for anything. Each day taught me something different about the individuals whom I was working with and myself. Working with individuals who have physical or mental handicap really helped me see the little things in life that are important and I am very thankful for that opportunity. Coaching was inspirational for my own training and me personally. It was a totally different feeling watching what an athlete goes through rather than doing it myself. The students and women who I coached helped me remember the fun side of running. Rather than always looking for faults in my own running I started looking at my achievements and accomplishments.
I have completed my Honours Bachelour of Science in Kinesiology at Lakehead University as well as an advanced diploma in Massage Therapy at Algonquin College. As a Registered Massage Therapist I find the area of scar rehabilitation and mobility very interesting and look forward to brining those skills to the members at The Wellness Group. I also believe that massage plays a vital role in helping the body to heal itself and function the way it was designed. If you would like to know more about what other types of specialized massage I offer and to learn more about me, please visit my website at www.allcorehealth.com.
My future goals are to keep increasing my education in Massage Therapy and Kinesiology. I plan to learn ART, sports massage, and want to continue to learn about health and wellness counselling and potentially a Masters in Sports Psychology.
I look forward to meeting with you and providing you with the best possible service and help you to achieve all of your health goals whether they involve rehabilitation or you simply want continued healthy living. If you have any questions or comments about anything from massage to wakeboarding to running or anything in between I would love to hear from you.
